Happy Birthday! (and some other stuff too)

Although technically I am still meeting my "once-a-month" quota of posts, the reality is that I skipped a good post for December; so, my apologies to start off. I'd provide pictures from Meghan and I's wonderful time with her family over the Christmas holiday, but I don't actually have any (I forgot to bring the camera...bummer). Just know that we had a stupendous time hanging with the family for about two weeks. We even got the pleasure of seeing Grandma and Grandpa Lundborg as they came down for the last few days of our visit. Plus, I got to school Kate in soccer; so all-in-all Christmas in Texas was a success.

Just this past week, Meghan and I visited my parents in Vero and got the opportunity to spend Meghan's birthday with family. My uncle Tom and aunt Nancy were also in Vero at the time, which was an added bonus to the long weekend. Meghan and I were showered with delicious meals (including a visit to my ABSOLUTE favorite restaurant in the world -- Villa Nova -- and a decadent birthday dinner for Meghan comprised of bacon-wrapped fillets and rosemary potatoes), and Meghan got some pretty cool gifts as well. I've inserted a few pictures from the unofficial "birthday party" we had.

Here's the birthday girl in typical TCU gear and party hat. Though the cake would suggest that this was her sixth birthday, she was actually turning twenty-four on this day.

Dad and Uncle Tom. I'm not sure what they're discussing here, but I wanted to include a picture to make sure you all know that they were there too.

Meghan's birthday party also coincided with the NFL playoffs. Thanks to Dad's unbelievably awesome HDTV, we didn't miss much. How about Eli pulling it out at freezing Lambeau? Wow!

Meghan and Aunt Nancy enjoying the dessert delicacies: cheesecake and non-Glutin brownies for those of us who are glutin intolerant. I just don't stand for glutin...ever.

Great times all around. One last thing that I wanted to mention. Over the Christmas holiday I finished the application process for grad schools. I'm now applying to seven different programs: UC Berkeley, UCLA, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Iowa, Ohio State, and Rutgers. I'll keep you posted on how everything progresses. If you'd like to know more about what I'm up to with my current grad program and academics in general, I just updated my academic homepage. Take a look and check it out.

You DID have a lovely December, didn't you! Although I found one flaw in your post. You sooooo didn't school me in soccer. I believe I did all the schooling...Dutch Blitz, Boccee ball ;), soccer, and life in general (just to name a few). Bwahahahaha J/K! Looks like you had a great time in Vero and ate lots of good food. Yum!

I just had my first day of clinic today and it was actually really fun. My little girl didn't talk much, but she's so sweet and I think she's going to be a lot of fun to work with.

Well bro, have a lovely day. If I were in FL I could school you in having a lovely day, but because of the distance/time change there's no way to measure how much I'd school you. So yeah. Later.

Grandma Lundborg here --

Great birthday pics. I can't possibly have a grandchild that old.

BTW, I'm still waiting for a bread recipe, Dan.

Anxiously awaiting your destination for fall, 2008. You too?

Love you both, G/G
